Many people today, struggle with the process of answering this very simple question. But yet, still even more of these people actually do nothing in finding a possible solution for it.
So if you are one of those people, that has taken this issue into their own hands, you will probably very much like what I am about to tell you.

First of all, you must ask yourself what is photography? Actually, correct me, because what you should be asking yourself is: What is photography for me?
It is often difficult to answer this question, but do not worry, because the answer is rather simple if you look at it from another perspective (just like you would be doing an image from a different perspective). In order to answer this question, you need to ask yourself another important question: Why are you doing it, and what drives you to it?

As an example, for me, the question of why I am doing it and what drives me to it is: Art.
I love art, and I love creating it. There is a saying: "Art has no purpose of existence" - which may sound a bit cheesy, however if you think about it, most of the art we see around us is created because it just was meant to be created. Same goes for photography. My pictures have no intention of existence, but still, in my opinion (and others as well) they create a very dramatic feeling about them. In a way, they exist only to break this rule.

However, there might be many other reasons for why you are a photographer. An example is a friend of mine, who is an architectural photographer. He basically creates a collection of architectural images and tries to tell a story through them. It's like, he wants the person that is looking at his images to feel like something has been there before, or that something will happen.

Anyway, as I said earlier, it is important to ask yourself these questions. So if you think about the title of this article, the answer to the question is simply: Passion.
